Africa is the second largest continent (after Asia) and it takes up about one-fifth of all of the land surface on the planet.
There are 55 countries that make it up (54 on the UN count) and there is a population of around 1.2 billion.
Africa is something that we have done very little of, but a safari trip has always been on the long term goals do we will tick the countries up as we go along.
Our first foray only saw us touch on Egypt and the second only tipped the northern belt (bearing in mind that many of the countries fit firmly on the Australian NO GO list for safety reasons).
